Some good news and some bad news!
Last week, I bought my new toys for my REBEL XT Camera . I got myself a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 II USM Lens and a Canon Speedlite 380EX Flash for a very super duper good deal! :)

As for the bad news...my canon powershot camera decided to stop working last week....actually it's giving me the so called "black screen of death". It still works...however whenever I take pictures, it always turn out black....my lcd display panel displays a black screen all the time.
And what's even weirder, my colleague at work has a different camera...Is having the exact same problem! I don't know if it's because of the bad humidity we were having this week...but both our cameras stopped working relatively at the same time....
My Canon PowerShot camera is still under warranty, so I'll be returning it to FutureShop this coming weekend... Great!

Montreal International Jazz Festival

Last friday Night, I attended the Montreal International Jazz Festival with my friend Mathieu. Earlier in the evening, i had the pleasure to finally meet his girlfriend and a few of his friends. We dined and wined all together at a nice Greek restaurant on Prince Arthur Street. The food was excellent!
Afterwards, we walked down to the Jazz Festival, which is the largest jazz festival in the world. It is held annually in Montreal each summer (late june - early july) and attracts artists from around the world.
The festival draws big crowds and is attended by nearly over 2 million people each year who are fascinated by Jazz and the city itself.
During the fest, many parts of the city's downtown core are closed to traffic for two weeks as outdoor shows are free to the public on many stages. Attendance at some shows is over a hundred thousand.
Shows are held in a wide variety of venues, from relatively small jazz clubs to the large halls of Place des Arts. Some of the outdoor shows are held on cordoned-off streets while others are on terraced parks.

Zidane inspires France to victory
Zidane scored on a penalty shot in the first half to lift France to a 1-0 victory over Portugal in Munich in the World Cup semifinals on Wednesday.
It sucks to lose on a penalty kick! But i'm happy that France won, Portugal was getting on my nerves!

Maison des Cyclistes
Happy Canada D'eh!I went to the Maison des Cyclistes today and bought myself a small pocket book map which covers all the bicycle paths across Quebec. It includes the bike paths for the Route Verte. In all, the book covers 85 municipalities, 44 intermunicipal roads, 180 colored maps which displays well over 7200 km of bike paths. Sweet! ;)
Maison des cyclistes is the headquarters of Vélo Québec. It's a nonprofit organization that advocates cyclists' rights, traveling by bicycle and safe cycling, and offers a large number of training workshops.
It also oversees the Route Verte project which comprises, today, well over 4,300 kilometers of bike paths throughout Quebec!

It's a very cool place to visit. You can shop for gear such as: maps, books, travel guides, bike racks, clothing, cyclometers, pocketknives and other accessories. Or you can even stop for coffee and grab a croissant, bagels or fresh fruits.
Be sure to check it out if you have a chance to visit!
