Chambly Quebec
The summer of John continues and so is the biking adventure! This past weekend I decided to take a path I've never taken on la route verte track 1!I went south this time and biked for about 20 kms until I've reached the city of Chambly

It's such a nice area, it took me about 2 hours of biking to finally get there...That's because I saw some great things and I couldn't help myself and took a few snapshots along the way! :)

The Summer Of John!
TTOW!!!Hello everybody!! Geez! I've been so caught up with work and with other personal things that I haven't posted on my blog for about 2 months now! I'm sorry about that!
I recently received a promotion at work! I am now a Design Lead and have my own team of web designers. I love it! It's awesome! Although things were a little rough at first and had to work an extra few hours per week... things started to settle down lately and the team has been a great success for the company so far! Excellent!
Summer is quickly approaching to our doorsteps. Summers are great and I am definitely looking forward to it. But I'm especially looking forward to this summer, this is gonna be my time. A time to get back into shape and have a very active lifestyle. I proclaim this: The Summer Of John! :)
I haven't had an active life style since high school, a time when I used to play basketball almost everyday. This year, I'm planning on doing plenty of biking on weekends, go to the gym 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) early in the morning and head to the office by bike twice a week ( Tuesday and Thursday ) if weather permits! I can't do it Matt! Not in the rain! I don't want to get sick! ;p
Speaking of bikes, I bought my new bicycle almost a month ago at a bike shop named V.B. Cycle in Montreal, near Plamandon Metro Station. I was looking for a bike good for my height and also not too expensive nor too cheap. I got myself a 21" Diamondback bike made for city and mountain biking for a relatively a good price.

I went to get my new bike on a Saturday morning. When I left the shop, I directly headed to Cote-des-neiges with a friend of mine. Afterwards we headed to Mount-Royal and stopped by to enjoy the scenery. I took a few snapshots of the city

Following that, we biked towards the city and then headed to a couple of parks. We went by park Jean-Mance and finally park Lafontaine. After doing all that biking, it was time to go home...I planned on using the metro to get home...but I said screw that, let's make this a memorable day, so I went home by bike and crossed the Jacques Cartier bridge! :)The next morning, I was still pumped & energized surprisingly! So I geared myself up again and decided to go for another long ride! :)
I first cruised around the regional park of Longueuil. I noticed there's more and more condo's being there, man things have changed during the past 10 years. It's used to be a big forest, now it's all commercial buildings and condos.
Following that, I swung on the bridge and went riding on "la Route Verte" besides auto route 132 near "Port de Plaisance". The port of pleasure! :)

This following fellow was having "pleasure", he caught a big fish. It took almost 15 minutes to reel in that sucker! ;)Anywho, I continued riding on "La route verte".............

...........but I made a wrong turn or something!?!? I ended up on a dead end!! Damn it! ;)
I stopped a couple of minutes and opened up my camera to take a few more snapshots of my surroundings.

I took a new way back to Longueuil and continued riding towards St-Bruno! I finished the day going near Mount St-Bruno and then stopped at my brother's house for a nice pop-in to say hello. It also gave me a chance to rest up a bit and refill on water :)
Pic heading towards Mount-St Bruno. So there you have it! I had an active weekend when I got my new bike! But the last two weekends have been pretty grey and horrible! I haven't done much biking since then! :(
That might change this week, as the forecast is looking super duper sweet. A lot of sun in the mix along with warm temperatures! Summer is coming! ;)
In other news, I'll be redesigning my blog once again. I want to add more life to my blog site. The last one I did was interesting, but lacked that spunk and colors. In the meantime, I've switched my blog with this simple blogger template. My new template should make an appearance soon!

3. Decisions made by the teams have "real life" implications how they will finish each legs of the race.
4. You are always caught in the race because of the great video and audio montage of the show.
5. It's a rat race! :)
