Montreal International Jazz Festival

Last friday Night, I attended the Montreal International Jazz Festival with my friend Mathieu. Earlier in the evening, i had the pleasure to finally meet his girlfriend and a few of his friends. We dined and wined all together at a nice Greek restaurant on Prince Arthur Street. The food was excellent!
Afterwards, we walked down to the Jazz Festival, which is the largest jazz festival in the world. It is held annually in Montreal each summer (late june - early july) and attracts artists from around the world.
The festival draws big crowds and is attended by nearly over 2 million people each year who are fascinated by Jazz and the city itself.
During the fest, many parts of the city's downtown core are closed to traffic for two weeks as outdoor shows are free to the public on many stages. Attendance at some shows is over a hundred thousand.
Shows are held in a wide variety of venues, from relatively small jazz clubs to the large halls of Place des Arts. Some of the outdoor shows are held on cordoned-off streets while others are on terraced parks.
