Maison des Cyclistes

Happy Canada D'eh!

I went to the Maison des Cyclistes today and bought myself a small pocket book map which covers all the bicycle paths across Quebec. It includes the bike paths for the Route Verte. In all, the book covers 85 municipalities, 44 intermunicipal roads, 180 colored maps which displays well over 7200 km of bike paths. Sweet! ;)

Maison des cyclistes is the headquarters of Vélo Québec. It's a nonprofit organization that advocates cyclists' rights, traveling by bicycle and safe cycling, and offers a large number of training workshops.

It also oversees the Route Verte project which comprises, today, well over 4,300 kilometers of bike paths throughout Quebec!

It's a very cool place to visit. You can shop for gear such as: maps, books, travel guides, bike racks, clothing, cyclometers, pocketknives and other accessories. Or you can even stop for coffee and grab a croissant, bagels or fresh fruits.

Be sure to check it out if you have a chance to visit!
